Kimihiro Koichi rank up request

The wind blew sharply, accommodating for the high altitudes of the little mountains not far from the West Rukongai. Newborn sun of the early spring gleamed wearily in the crisp fresh air, still struggling against the winter's wicked grasp. Kimihiro Koichi was walking up the winding path that led him into an opening in the mountain's gray flesh, speckled with bleak greenery and meek naked brushes. What caught young shinigami's attention was a large hut, located next to a small niche where the underground waters struggled through the earth's womb in order to be born as the pulse of a spring. Man's eyes narrowed, reflecting suspicions coming true. For the past two weeks he was following a trail that started at the 3d division's barracks where several shinigami were admitted with an unknown disease of which they were quickly treated. It seemed to attack spiritual pressure points on the body in an attempt to corrupt them, but it was not potent enough to take down even the weakest of shinigami. As Koichi discovered later, it was strong enough to kill weak spirits in the Rukongai, devour their bodies whole. Yet the cases were too random, scattered around a large area, refusing to follow viruses' instinct to amass in an outbreak. His gut told him that these were just test subjects, the unsuccessful ones. The rest was easy: he had to follow a trail of death and arrive to the empty mountains, to an unmarked spring. "There is nothing easier than spreading a disease in a world with water as the only source of energy for its inhabitants. You just got to find an uncharted wellspring." He murmured to himself as he prowled closer and closer to the lonely building. Kimihiro hid his reiatsu masterfully while observing the ones inside: there were numerous readings of someone who has developed their spiritual gift outside the Seiretei and... a shinigami's. Koichi smirked - it always had to be a biter reject to lead the dark masses against the system. He could also sense some stationary, built up energy but he couldn't quite put the finger on what it was exactly. "Perhaps the research tools?" There was not much more information to gather. "Carpe diem"

Koichi forced his way through the brittle wall of the shed with a shunpo. At the same time he has let his reiatsu to flow freely, which had a good suppressing effect on the weaker men and women in the large room. There were fourteen of them - nothing to be concerned about if not for the fact that he now saw what those stationary readings were: hado hand canons. These devices required minimal gift to operate and were loaded with deadly kido. Kimihiro knew exactly who loaded those canons. The renegade shinigami was calmly standing in front of him, eyeing his opponent with a judging look of a fighter. The man was tall and broad, muscles clearly seen over the shabby brown robes, the like that was seen all around Rukongai. Koichi drew his zanpaktou and announced loudy: "All of you present are hereby placed under arrest for suspicion of sabotage against the whole of Soul Society and trafficking of illegal weaponry! You are to surrender your arms and accompany me to the Seiretei for your trial. If you are to resist, as a member of the Gotei 6, I will have no choice but to exercise lethal force!" He didn't expect them to heed his command, yet the other shinigami's attack was still a little bit of a surprise. The opponent lunged himself at Kimihiro with a flash step, his voice and reiatsu booming in the air: "Speak of wickedness, Kon'nyaku!" Man's zanpaktou became a large whip consisting of sharp metal joints. He was not as fast as Kimihiro, so the entangling attack and the following kick in the stomach were safely blocked by a broad defensive sweep of the blade and the redirecting block of the palm. The enemy was not going to play around, nor was Koichi. "Reap through the heart of the tempest, Niso o Hoki!" The scabbard merged with the straightened blade, weapons pulse beating in a chaotic dance of the lightning. The adversary seemed to be around the 6th seat, no match for the young shinigami. Kimihiro used Flash Surge, tearing through the air at an incredible speed, leaving the adversary with no time to react. What followed was an arching slash that released a mighty current at the opponent who managed to block the attack on sheer unconscious reflexes. Opposing shinigami flew and crushed through the wall, merciless lightning biting through the clothes, burning its way into flesh. "Bakudo No4: Hainawa!" Koichi caught the body midair with the serpentine reiatsu rope and sent it to his feet with a powerful tug. He proceeded by plunging the blade into the man's shoulder and twisting it cruely, plunging the enemy deeper into the realm of pain. Those of the spectators who managed to regain their composure looked at their leader with eyes filled with terror. "Those of you who wish to retain their lives will stay where you are and await my colleagues!" Kimihiro sent a Hell Butterfly on a long journey to the Seiretei, to the 6th squad headquarters, requesting assist with transportation of the criminals. There will be many questions to be asked of these saboteurs and hopefully many answers to be head. Despite the satisfaction he knew very well that what he severed today was not the head or even a limb of the sinister plot. The future gazed back at him with malevolent eyes from behind the concealing darkness.
